namespace in Gazebo launch file

Hello I am having some issues with launching gazebo via launch file. When I google about my issues, I see that "namespace" used in gazebo launch file is the cause.. First, I wanted to understand what is a namespace in gazebo, but strangely, I could not find any useful resources explaining it thoroughly. Can you point me to any such documentation? Thanks
